H2 Wheel and Tire Question

If I change out my current stock H2 wheels (17x8.5) for a new 18" wheel and either keep my stock BFG A/T tires (315/70/17) or go with new ProComp XT 35/12.5/17 tires, would this raise the height of the truck? Or is the size of the wheel irrelevant to the height of the truck, only the tire is?

How do you plan on poping an 18 into a 17 tire? Rim size does not affect the height.

You do know that you can run 37's on stock suspension. That will raise the truck an inch.

Thank for the info, I wasnt aware that you could run 37's without a lift. When I'm looking at rims whether 17,18, or 20's what backspace do they need to be?

You can run 37`s Without a lift, and above how did you plan on using an 18 rim and ur existing tire? If I was you id copy brads exact setup its perfect

Yeh i running 37x12.50 on 20x i think 10 or 10.5 rims. I get a little rub on hard turns and dunes jumps but thats when i hit them hard. Check out my Pic gal got a few pics of my setup.

Looking at those pics in your gallery, it looks like those front tires would rub MAJORLY when you turn
on the rear part of the front wheelwell without any wheel stuff (I can only imagine how bad it would be
in an off camber situation). Are you sure there's not more BFG rubber caked up on the inside of
those fenders than you realize?

I like the way your setup looks and all, but I would like to see a picture of the Left front with the steering wheel
turned full Left.

the 12.5 wide tires don't rub much in the back of the wheel well, but the 13.5 wide do.  still, it's only plastic back there where it rubs, with no steel behind it.  if the front end comes down hard they'll clean the grime and grit off the back of the wheel well, but i still haven't popped a tire or bent anything in the back.  better shocks help out too, that way you typically only slam into the wheel well once . . . .   crawling in some off camber areas will put the wheels into the wheel wells, but i haven't ripped out any of the plastic wheel well lining yet (although some of the screws are missing) . . . .
