I have my setting programed in Driver 1... my wifes is Driver two...  Problem is she drives my beast maybe once a month...  yet everytime I get in it the setting default to driver 2 I don't understand you'd think the would always default to Number 1!  I mean I can push number one and Im good to go but if in a hurry and I jump in and go my heads suddenly in the ceiling and my knees in my face!  LOL...  Is there a way to set it to default to driver 1...

Swicth Key FOBS with your wife.  Sounds like she has Key FOB1.  They are tied in with the memory seats.

HumminNboatin has the easiest answer. Next answer would be to reprogram again. Mine worked like a charm. ( of course my wife drove the H2 about twice a year )

Hey guys: Our 2006 and 2007 H2s do not tie in the seat position wth the memory key fobs. I can ONLY change the seat memory position from #1 to #2 by pressing the buttons on the door. What am I doing wrong?

On other GM vehicles (like our Corvette), pressing the keyfob automatically moves the driver's seat to the corresponding position. It does NOT do this with the H2. At least not on the 2006 and 2007 that I can find. Our 2006 was a Canadian model. Our current 07 is a USA model.

Is there a way to move the seat automatically by pressing the keyfob? How do you do this? Is it a preference programming thing? I can not find any reference to it in the owner's manual.

Can anyone help with this?

I had a 2003 H2. My seats, mirrors, radio presets, etc all set to the numbered key when the ignition was turned on. I didn't have to press a keyfob button. I assumed that the later models functioned the same way. If they don't keeo checking back and someone with a later model will chime in.

Maybe the fobs don't do that on the newer ones. I know it doesn't on our '07 Escalade!!

What are you set at on the DIC??

Mine is set to recognize the fobs... I don't use the button....

ALSO... there was an issue with the seat programming for some years... I had to get mine redone because forward was back and back was forward and I had no seat memory.

Like suggested check the Fob numbers, run through the programming like it says in the owners manual and if it still doesn't work then you either have an issue or don't have that feature...

Muddydawg: The 07 does not have anything that I can see in the DIC that talks about memory seats. What is the name of that setting in the DIC?

Can't see anything about this in the owner manual.

When you go through all the options on there you have nothing for the seats?

Just to make sure wea re talking about the same place... I am talking about the programming part where you set the horn beep for alarm, reverse mirrors, easy seat exit.... etc.

Correct!

There is nothing in the DIC preference settings for seats that I can find.

I guess they did away with it then....  must be a result of the issues they had with what I mentioned before..

The backwards power seats and fob recongnition is a common/known issue.  I just had mine fixed under warranty a few weeks ago.

Yeah... That was very annoying...

I had mine done under warranty in August/September/October/whenever I got my leaky axles fixed... and my CEI problems I had for a few weeks...

LisaM & Muddydawg75: What year are your vehicles?

Are they 2006 or 07? Or earlier years?

I would like to determine when the change occurred if there was indeed a change in the setup. Thanks.

Thanks to all for the replies.

Ok, That pretty much confirms it.

The earlier years had the movable seats via keyfob, the later years do not.

I would have thought that they would give you more in latter years, not less features.

I was wondering??? Do your fobs have a 1 and 2 on them??

Cause as I stated earlier, our '07 Escalade's DON'T!! But I just bought 2 '08 fobs on eBay for the Escalade and THEY DO have a 1 and 2!! And, supposedly via an Escalade forum, these new fobs DO change the settings?!!

Maybe if you bought OLDER FOBS with the 1 and 2 on them, they might work??

Just THROWIN' IT OUT THERE!!!

I've got both 1 and 2 fobs for mine and it doesn't recognize them either. In the DIC I changed the setting for the seat to allow easy exiting, I don't remember exactly what it said but something to that effect and it at least returns the seat back before I get into it. My GF is about 5'2" and I easily have a foot on her, she loves to drive the H2 more than anything else so I was changing the seat options often. The only thing is it's not a benz so the rear view mirrow doesn't change for me. And damn that is so far away.

As far as I know, the fobs are always #1 and #2. Unless someone changed them, or ordered the wrong second fob if it only came with one.
