Hello - I would love to hear from anyone who has had a less than plesant experience in purchasing their Hummer from this dealership. My experience in trying to purchase an H3 was incredibly shady. Thanks...

AAhhh, someone who has validated my ssame opinion! I went to Greenbrook GMC Hummer back in Nov '06 and it was a disgusting experience. I blame it on the Truck Sales Manager, not the salesperson. I had a valid GM Supplier discount # and they tried to add thousands to the final price and could not give me a straight answer as to what the charges were. Then they tried to switch me into an '06 instead of the '07. They were sneaky, slimy, and dishonest. My understanding is that they have only had the HUMMER name for abbout 6 months. I would suggest using Perrine GMC HUMMER in East Windsor, NJ - I can give you the name of the Sales Associate that I used (if you want it)- he was easy to work with, honest, and made the buying experience a total pleasure. I'd use him again if I was buying another. Greenbrook was so revolting that I wanted to file a complaint with HUMMER corporate.......but you know how that goes.

Greenbrook Hummer GMC was a good dealer to me when I went there. The salesman even wrote down a bogus final price number so that I could get the idiot at the dealership I went to down in price

And they have a crapload of trucks to choose from too! When I bought my dodge ram I actually went there to test drive a used H2, they were again really cool to talk to.

Didn't really get a chance to deal with them too much - got a quote and the salesguy immediately told me the invoice price, which I found to be rather fishy (don't they usually want to hide the invoice price from you?), and a price above the invoice... on doing some research, I realized that the invoice price quoted was way above what it should be?! Hmm... a lying salesman, should I be surprised?
Anyways, in the end, bought from Hummer of Turnersville. I recommend the place, no problems whatsoever (not yet anyways!). Folks were pleasant. The other place I would avoid is Royal.

I bought mine up at Paramus Hummer, which is now Hummer of Mahwah since they opened a new standalone hummer dealer. Parts are pricey but the service and sales experience was first rate. I also went to Royal Cadillac Hummer when the H3 first came out in '05 and was treated very nicely.

royal is where I ended up buying mine from. The salesguy I dealt with is no longer there but they were an awesome dealership. They gave me $5000 more than any other dealer would for my trade which kept me from bieng upside down on it...thatswhy they got my business. Beware though, they charge you $4.95 a day for a loaner, everyplace else I checked is free.

Well, I almost joined the ranks of becoming an H3 owner...
Green Brook located a vehicle for me in MD, and did a trade with that dealership. They even installed the roof marker lights that I wanted. But...
when we were getting the paperwork and payment amounts in place, they hit me with a whammy - an additional $408 for LAM Dealer Contribution PLUS $1225 for LAM Group Contribution. I had previously offered (and we had shaken on) the Edmunds "True Market Value" amount - that did NOT include these dealer to manufacturer "contributions." Oddly, Edmunds also indicated that "participating" dealers are receiving $1500 back from Hummer PER CAR until sometime in October as part of a marketing promo. So let's see - this dealership was going to end up charging me $1100 above Edmunds TMV! I must have been wearing my "Idiot Face" and I didn't even realize it.
BTW- If a dealer pulls out a BARS Document Display, indicating "the true invoice price", run. It certainly won't agree with KBB or Edmunds.
Unfortunately, no signed paperwork was in place before the actual purchase (maybe this was an omen afterall, since I had not yet put down anything.) My recommendations - stay away from this dealership! It seems that these folks' business practices haven't changed since the OP.
I've also been to Royal, Mahwah, and Gold Coast, with different but bad dealings. I'm hoping that my experiences with Hummer dealers will improve out of state, 'cuz I've never had such bad experiences buying a vehicle (this will be my 8th vehicle purchase within NJ since '82. None have been this bad!) At this point I'm giving up on NJ Hummer dealers and will be looking to purchase out of state. Other folks within NJ may want to consider doing the same.
I'll update everyone on my experience with an out-of-state purchase when I finally have my H3 Alpha in my driveway.

bringing up this old thread made me realize i made a mistake...I bought mine at gold-coast hummer/cadillac...GREAT place and didn't give me one bit of problems...even gave me $4000 more for my trade than it was worth to get my payments where they needed to be. By your post it sounds like your approaching this purchase with a I know more than you attitude...that won't make the dealer work any harder to make a deal with you...especially on a high demand truck like the h3, you don't want it they will sell it 10 minutes after you leave. JMO. Especially on an alpha!! Edmunds and KBB mean crap on a high demand vehicle..there are a ton of cars that sell for 5-10 grand MORE than the listed retail values...all about supply and demand and right now alphas are in high demand.

I realize that the Alpha is in demand, and that JD Powers has listed the H3 as having the least depreciation of ANY American vehicle right now. However, I've ALWAYS used Edmunds and KBB to base my purchase price - and ALWAYS with success. My purchases have included many other high-demand vehicles. I've also had a Full-size GMC Jimmy V8 Full-time 4WD, a full-size V8 Bronco, Toyota Tacoma and a Jeep Wrangler.
I apologize if I come off sounding like a know-it-all. I just try to educate myself prior to making big-ticket purchase decisions, whether personally or in business. Typical car salesmen probably don't like my type, but purchasing over the Internet is more my style (this will be my 3rd vehicle purchased this way.)
I realize that every dealer needs to make money on a deal, which is why I believe that Edmunds and KBB identify fair purchase prices. When Edmunds & KBB have indicated that a vehicle is selling in my part of the country for MSRP, and the related forums agree, I don't go into a dealer demanding to pay less. Fair is fair, and I don't look for special treatment. But paying more is crazy.
Some info that folks may find interesting: It's come to my attention (from talking to salesmen at 4 locations) that anywhere from 80-90% of all H3 sales in NJ are leases, not sales. The additional 10% (in hidden fees) that a dealership might pass on to a customer in monthly payments is often acceptable and overlooked by the average customer; it's often confusing to follow the shell game that is played when leasing a vehicle. Things become much clearer when it's a direct purchase, especially without financing.
I just made an on-line arrangement with an out-of-state dealer to purchase an Alpha at invoice cost (per KBB/Edmunds). I will need to drive many hrs each way to get it, and go thru the hassle of registering it and getting it re-inspected here in NJ, but at a net savings of 10+% compared to this thread's named dealership price, I think the drive and other hassles will be worth it.
My recommendation - If you're aggravated by any NJ Hummer salesmen trying to rip you off, look elsewhere, and do your homework. Don't go in blind, and be prepared to walk away and go out-of-state if necessary. Unless you'll be leasing; then you're at their mercy.
Hopefully it will work out for me (obviously no guarantees 'til it's in my driveway). I'll fill in everyone at a later date.

Please refresh my memory, isn't the dealership on Route 22? If so, the old adage of being aware of Rt. 22 dealerships (with a very limited few exceptions) holds true. Years ago I had one Rt. 22 dealership in Greenbrook ask for my license when I asked to test drive a vehicle, but they limited me to driving in their parking lot and tried to hold my license until we finished negotiating (in other words I bought) their car. This wasn't going to happen (are they kidding-test driving in their parking lot!) and I had to walk out on the showroom floor in front of other potential buyers and in a loud, but polite voice, demand my driver's license or I would call the police. They tried to usher me into the sales manager's office where "he would give me a great deal for my inconvenience". I walked by a potential customer on my way out the door, and again in a loud/polite voice, said that I was calling the police to report the dealership. It was almost comical watching them chase after me to give me my license. Nope, didn't call the police, but some customers did leave the dealership (whether it was because of my "scene" I can't say).

You can build the Alpha over on Edmunds with all the options and the prices listed for each option. I've dealt with 2 Hummer dealerships in Jersey and my brother bought from a Hummer dealer in Allentown, PA, I believe. All 3 have been excellent to deal with - Mahwah and Royal for me (Not sure of the name of the one in Allentown.) As for Royal, the internet salesmen was really cool to deal with, even though I ended up not buying an Alpha right now - GMAC wanted WAY too much to let me out of my current lease - Not Royal's fault.

I think I have shared this before, but my experience with Green Brook was better than I have had with any other dealership here in NJ, or in NY, MA, MO or RI.
They gave me much more than my trade in was worth, a good deal on the Alpha and transferred my goodies (including the marker lights which they had to replace on my trade in due to the Rivnuts sticking out of the roof) from my '07 H3 Adventure to the Alpha.
I found the sales person, finance, parts and service departments to be better and nicer than those in any other dealership I have been to in decades.
To be honest, I had gone back to the dealership ( a different one in NJ) I bought my '07 from first to give them the opportunity to make me a repeat customer. They made promises that weren't kept took a deposit and waited 5 days before looking for the Alpha I wanted. When I went to Green Brook, I did start out by telling them of my experience and that I had walked out of a deal there. I told them I had my credit card company take back my deposit AND told them I was in no hurry to get a new vehicle. Maybe that helped them appreciate that I could walk away without looking back.
I was asked "What can we do to get you into this vehicle today?" I gave them my list, my offer and my asking price for my trade-in and said I would make no deals today but would be back tomorrow with a deposit depending on what they could do. I got everything I asked for.
Nothing to gain or lose by saying this, no financial nor personal interest, just sharing my experience.
P.S. Once I put the PlusOne light bar back on, I'll post some pics.
