If anyone needs to get in touch with me, send me a PM.
The pool company started digging my pool on Monday and most of my time is tied up with that. So far they completely collapsed my driveway, broke my back patio and sidewalk and swung the bucket through my fence

Me a wee bit angry!!! To top it off the damn contract says tha they are not responsible for any property damage.

and let the chit storm continue.........

Man that completely sucks!!!
Did you at least get to see our few threads about our off-road get-together we had on Sunday?
How can they NOT be responsible for property damage THEY caused? WTF kinda deal is that? Was the truck too heavy for the driveway when they backed in?

I only have one thing to say to that .. you break it .. you bought it ... end of story ... I'd like to see something legally binding stating they aren't liable .. hell with that kind of a clause they could technically run the digger through your livingroom .. smilin' all the way through ...

well, the company that is building my pool is the same company tht built the first one 35 years ago. It turns out that they use the same excavation company to do the dig outs and teh guy that is digging my pool is the same guy that dug the first one. The contracts say that the excavating company is not responsible for any property/landscape damage caused by the normal use of equipment needed to build the pool. They are going to fix my fence, I just found that out a few minutes ago...the rest I am SOL! Teh driveway is the worst, as soon as he took the backhoe off the trailer and drove onto my driveway the tracks broke through the blacktop and sunk down through the sand/clay base below the blacktop. Of course he kept going and tore two nice track paths down my 60 foot long diveway. If I could get my digi camera to work with this aptop I would show you pictures of it all. what a friggen mess!

I am making a few calls later this afternoon to see if I have any course of action to take. I could see letting it go but this thing is costing me a small fortune as it is, to fix their mess-ups is putting me way way over budget. I priced out a new white vinal privacy fence last night and the cheapest rate I got was $7800....OUCH!!!!
Dennis, the pool is big I guess, seems normal to me cause I grew up with the old one which was the same size as this one is going to be. It is 20'x40', 3.5' deep low end and 8.5' in the deep end. Comes with a spring dive and a 4 foot jaquzzi (sp?) attached to the end of the low end. I'm super exited to see it all done, it should be pretty awesome....especially if my house is still standing after this excavator gets done...at this rate that is a big if

.
I downloaded the proper software driver thing for my dii camera so I should have pics to show you all tomorrow.

Holy hell, that's not a pool you're diggin, that's a LAKE, at least based on the price! When I had mine quoted (still on the fence on this so no buy yet) they asked 22 grand for a 10 foot deep diving pool in 36x18 T shaped size. I think the fence we were looking at was an additional 6,700 for the wooden one and about 17 grand and change if we went with the cast iron/stone pillar setup I want ... Granted, with this said I should probably add the pool is retail cost through a company here but everything else is cost plus 10% as a good friend of mine works for a builder and she hooks us up with some great deals. If I recall correctly the 600 some sqf stone deck we're having put in this year is $1,100 plus material and I'm getting that at cost plus 10 too ... can't beat that!

Impy, you're taking this way better than most. The damage alone they did to your property would have been enough to spin me in to a dimension of pi$$ed off you just simply don't want me in! Now this on top of it!? I'm personally thinking I'm investing in a season pass to the closest water park instead of having a pool put in on my property LOL!
In any case, hope things work out sooner rather than quickly .. .sounds like you have a bunch of clowns working for ya too ... hey .. how about smackin' up the cam corder while they are out there, I'm sure we can all share a couple of chuckles with ya :-)

I have plenty of pics...just can't get my digi camera and my laptop to work together. I don't think the toshiba laptop and the sony camera like each other.
I learned to not let chit like this piss me off anymore, life's too short. The way I look at it is that at least I am getting some entertainment for my money

OK, I'm confused LOL..if there was a pool built there 30 years ago..why are they digging a new one rather than re-doing the old one? We have built 1 pool/no jacuzzi ($20K - 14 years ago)and basically totally redone another pool/jacuzzi ($8K 6 years ago) And here I thought our pool building experience was comical and a bit hellish! That pool was basically built single handedly by a gentleman who would show up still drunk from the night before as well as hung over and then tell me all about it!!! LOL. (It did turn out nice in the end tho 3 months later.)
To those who have never experienced the pool build...all contracts state they are not liable for damages to property in clear print (plus often they sub out much of the work)...you disagree or don't sign..you DON'T get your pool built! If you refuse to pay the ending balance due to damages or disatisfaction...they slap a lien on your home in a NY second (which then clouds your title until lien is satisfied)

sure they do Killer..I have an 8 year old (dinosaur) sony digital and a 2 year old toshiba laptop...what have you got set upwise? Does the camera have a smartstick?? Does the laptop have a slot for a smartstick or the dazzle smartstick adaptor that slides out on the side or back?? (about the size of a credit card)???
