Has anyone purchased an H3 with the GM Rear Vision Camera?  Was wondering how well it works.  Looks nice, but seems pricey ($900) for a retrofit .

I have a Eclipse navigation and added the back up camera for about 125.00 works fantastic! Have the factory one in my H2 same as factory one in 2008 H3 and the Eclipse one is alot clearer and works thru the navigation!

I saw it at the dealership and used it while backing in the test drive vehicle.  The key plus with the OEM is the placement of the screen.  You don't have to look down to see where you are, since it slides out to the right on the mirror, so you can glance between the regular rear-view and the camera.  The minus is it's small compared to navi-based backup cameras.  I've used both and like the safety aspect of the in-mirror type, but it all comes down to personal preference.

Hope this helps!

I have it on my alpha. at first i wasnt too keen on paying that much for it. but now that i have used it several times I'm very glad to have it. it makes backing up the h3 a LOT easier.

I have one on my 07 H3X built into the Nav system.  As soon as you put it into reverse it pops up.  Great picture and a must have.  Mine is actually slanted a lil to the right, that way when i am back ing out at Wal Mart i can get a glimpse of cars coming up the row.

Yup... if you already have a factory Nav, the auto-reverse camera system is the way to go, you get a big clear view.

I have it on my H3 Alpha and is works OK but I like the ones that play on the Nav screen a lot better.  The one that comes out of the mirror makes the mirror so big and bulky that visibility around it is significantly impaired.  But it does work.  I'm worried about how long it will work though since it basically has to come out in a mecahnical drawer every time you put the vehicle in reverse.

A retrofit for $900? That sounds really cheap - I think its about that when installed at the factory.  I've got it on my truck - and I like it, especially with the lines that match up to the spare tire.  The ones that play through the nav make you break into the nav radio, and void your warranty on the whole radio (can't even get peeling buttons repaired)...just a heads up.
