well, i hit my head again on the trail and it knocked me back to normal. glad I don't own a diesel right now, it's running an average of $.40 a gallon more than regular. met a guy on a club run last weekend that's making his own biodiesel, right now at a 50/50 mix. smells like i'm following a rolling taco bell.

hmm..i like how taco bell smells...
when working as a tech, our oil changer was in diesel school, and he said that ALL of the engines that they worked on ran strictly on used McDonalds fryer grease..

he gets his used oil from a restaurant in truckee, free for now. if prices stay the way they are, good chance some of these places will realize what they have and start selling it. then the cost benefit will go out the window. it's a pretty interesting process, and the smell is better than straight dino diesel.

I'm a plumber and I get alot of customers asking about heating with Biodiesal, there isn't an approved residential boiler available yet but I'm sure its coming. and there are a few people that are using with thier residential boiler with a little tinkering.

I don't know about you guys, but gas prices today just went down ten cents from $2.48 to $2.38 in my town. Just in time since tonight I'll be travelling about 640 miles to College Station and back on my H2 at 10.9 mpg!

i don't regret buying the hummer at all. i enjoy watching 3 different cars fillup at the pump next to me while i'm fillin' the bus. my only beef is with the stations that automatically stop pumping at $50 or $60, that doesn't always fill mine. i don't feel guilty at all, i've worked hard to be able to afford my toy, if someone else is jealous, i can't help it. i'll certainly feel safer totin' the newest shortbus rider (when he gets here in october) around in the H2 than I would in a prius or beetle.

Hey, don't get me wrong! I love and enjoy my H2. I'ts a pleasure to drive it and I wouldn't have it any other way. I also enjoy all the head-turning. I also don't mind the gas prices especially here in my town where they are cheaper than average.
You gotta understand that an H2 here is a status symbol and only professionals (such as doctors) and drug dealers own h2's here (and I don't think anyone of them will go off roading), no soccer moms. I'm the exception, I'm a blue-collar tech.

I live in Laredo, Texas, border city with Mexico. Hottest city in Texas. I live in the south side, that is, the poor and rough part of town.[8\|]

I'm a phone technician, I install and repair phone lines; work for SBC, in fact my H2's license plate reads: SBC.COM, needless to say, I'm well-paid.

efrain, we're almost family, in a sick sort of way. i work for cingular, which is half SBC. they don't pay me enough to make my plate say so, but i am trying to get a "jack splat" logo for the front bumper. the way things are going, there will only be one phone company left in about 10 years. i've had the same job for 17 years and this is the third company name.

Yeah! Cingular is like the stepchild of SBC, our union members working for Cingular are always getting screwed. Good luck there.

on issues are new to those of us from the AT&T Wireless side of the house. and my group won't be represented in any way either. but, unions are like religion and politics, not something that leads to calm discussions.
