Hello,

New to the forums here. Just got a new 06’ H2 last week. First thing I want to do is remove the front plate, I know I live in CA but I want to remove it anyway (all my cars are missing a front plate). I removed the two screws that hold the plate on the holder, however I discovered the plate holder is bolded on to the bumper from the back side (inside) the bumper by two metal fasteners/bolts. How do I get at these bolts? Has anyone here done a front plate delete? Any help/info is really appreciated. Thanks!

you should be able to reach up behind the plate if you take off your skidplate. if you ever want to use your hitch receiver in front, you'll need to take the plate off. mine doesn't have a plate holder, so not sure what you're up against. i'm in CA, and i haven't had a plate on front either, but i usually have the winch mounted anyway.

Yea, I just dropped the skid and there they (the fasteners) were. Just popped em’ out, no more front plate!

Is it EASY to remove the skid plate??

I bought a skid plate on eBay and had it shipped to James Lee in Florida to have him polish it!! LOOKS AWESOME, but I'm going to wait till next summer to put it on.

I'm just going to change it every winter/summer, at the same time as my rims, I just want to know if it's EZ to do (I'm not very MeCaNiCaLlY InClInEd)!!

I did not know you could get the plate looking that good. I may have to look into that.

Taking the plate off is easy, as long as you can work a wrench.

Removing the skid was easy as pie. A 15mm socket and 9 bolts. Took about 10 minutes to remove and reinstall.

Polished skid eh?!?! Gonna have to look that one up, sounds killer!
