Does anyone know how to remove the front side marker lights? I think they just pop out but I gave it a bit of a go and they didn't come out easily so I thought it best to confirm before I break something. Thanks!

they do pop out but take alot of force. i ended up scratching the paint arround it and ended up buying the covers for them to hide the paint.i did the other side at the same time. now when i need to replace the bulbs my problem is the covers are permently on useing 3m tape so i figure i will have to take it to the dealer when i need new bulbs. i think u can get at it if the hummer is lifted up or enough to just get youre arm im there not sure

Ok, now I'm confused! H3Alpha, what are you trying to say in English...do I have to remove the inside fender cover to access the indicator light? I tried to use the link you sent but was denied access. I have one person telling me he removed the light from the outside(with damage) and one from the inside(incomplete description). Anyone know for sure?

It did not cut and paste well but it is a simple procedure.

    1.  remove inner wheel well liner

    2.   pinch clips on light assembly together and push outward

the third step is for the bulb replacement.

If you pry it out from the outside the retaining clips could break off.

Thanks H3 Alpha! I was afraid that I would have to remove the wheel well liners but it seems like the best way to go.

I think you might be able to remove the front portion of fasteners in the wheel well liner and weasel your hand up in there. The GM repair site usually has a tendency to over do the explanations

I removed one of the wheel liners to tap into the marker light to power my new roof markers. I tried just lowering the front portion but the way the liner fits into the bumper at the front it wouldn't go down far enough. I was able to get my hand up in there but it was too tight to do any work so I took the whole liner off...PIA with those crappy plastic anchors! I put it all together and the next day decided to smoke the marker lights and hoped there was an easier way...doesn't look like it. I'm still trying to decide if its worth the effort. Thanks for your help! Is this GM repair site you use available to anyone?

Unfortunately the site is only for certain industries. If you ever need help just ask I can provide the part number and process for every nut and bolt (well almost) on our vehicles.
Also yes you should smoke the markers. I hate to look at that bright yellow on my dark colored truck so that’s my vote.

I'm expecting my nite shades to arrive tomorrow...Looks like a weekend of toxic fume fun for the both of us, RHILL! I'll try to get some picks up soon too, if I don't run the s**t all over the place. Are you gonna remove the side markers to spray them or do them in place? Also, thanks for your offer H threeAlpha...I'm sure we'll find the need.

Well, the roof markers are drying as I speak (or type). I'm looking at the side markers and trying to debate if I want to remove them or pull the ole blue tape out

Same here, RHill! I decided to just tape my side markers...it was pretty easy to work the tape in there snug to the light. I'm going to let the nite shades dry for an hour or so and then clear coat everything. I read on a rice burner forum that the clear coat makes the tint much more durable. Hopefully it won't lift the nite shades. I did a test with an old lens and it seems to be OK. I'm going to see just how durable this turns out to be and maybe I'll smoke the back tail lights too.

Well, Roof markers are finished and put back on. Not sure if I like the side markers though. May just go ahead and take them out tomorrow and clean them off and do them again, a little bit lighter. What do you think Hummerhead? Forgot, I took off the nerf bars also.

First, I took them off obviously:

Then I painted the lenses on some cardboard:

    Completed in the garage:

    Installed Night Shot:

Last one is kind of a crappy shot. I'm going to get a better day/night shot tomorrow.

Looks Great RHill! You went pretty dark, which looks good with the black truck. I left mine with a hint of yellow still visible. I LOVE the way they look! I took your advice and used a tint material for tail lights for the front turn signal...easy to install because it was flat. The clear coat worked great too...gave the lenses a glossy look...more like the stock finish. Here's a couple of shots...I plan to get some better photos of the vehicle when I get some extra time and I'll post them then.

the night shades looks good. Mine came a few days ago but I haven't had time to spray my lenses yet.

Hummerhead: You used window tint for the front turn signal? That looks good too.

Looks nice, I like it your way too. Didn't really PLAN on going that dark, just kind of happened. LOL
