Lawwyfe, I didn't mean to sound sarcastic in my PM that I sent I realy just wanted to thank you for the advice you gave. If I did I am truely sorry about that. I made quite a few calls to GM over a few weeks. If you like I can get you the name and number of the case manager that I spoke to. He was very nice and did get back with me in the time frame he said. I was very suprised to get the letter when I did after reading what they have put you through these last 4 months. Let me know if you want his name and extension.

sjr, NO NO NO, I did not mean to imply that you were sarcastic in anyway! I am just angry that they seem to be willing to help others (and in such a timely manner) yet have put me thru thru all this.  They are now way beyond the point of absurdity. (I am happy for you that you got satisfaction and now have security.) Sure, I'd be interested to know who you got help from if you would like to share that info, because I sure am getting nowhere with the 2 people that I have dealt with the last 4 months.

My hummer is in the  shop now for the head replacement.  What should I be asking for as far as extended warranty?

I just had my head replaced last week..
Hey 2 heads are better than one!

Yesterday I got a call back from Hummer and they will send me a "component letter" to extend the warranty to cover the whole engine for 7 years or 100K. (Whatever comes first).

They said I should recieve teh letter in 2-4 weeks
I had opened a file with them before having the work done.

Dan...good to hear...

Can you furnish a phone # and contact name you were working with?..Maybe some of these folks that are dealing with the rocks of GM, may have better luck with your contacts.

Denny, I find this absolutely incredible that 2 people on here in the last week have gotten extended warranties and in a timely manner, when I have been dealing with GM for 4 1/2 months now and as of my last phone call from them 1 week ago...I was told "GM is no longer interested in dealing with you until you return the original letter!"  WTF? WHY can't I get a simple freakin extended warranty??!!

Thanks Dan! It took me about 2 months and many phone calls to get my 1st letter (which was not at all what I was told that I would be getting - engine & drivetrain which is all I wanted.) It was head/valve basically only. Which is why I took up issue with GM yet again.  Then I was promised again via telephone a terrific extended warranty (basically bumper to bumper and letter would arrive within a couple weeks) - 3 weeks later when I never received that new letter, I called GM yet again and was informed that it was all a big mistake and the rep should have never told me that I would get the extended warranty and that my 1st letter was canceled as well.  Now eventho they canceled the 1st letter - they claim they will do nothing for me until I return that original letter - so here we are 4.5 months later and I have beaten about 5 dead horses here with a big stick by now! LOL

These 2 have gotten me NO WHERE!  Adrian Baxter & Jane Keeler

Mr Joe Rodriquez from GM called my husband today (my initial call was yesterday) and a letter for 6 years/100,000 miles will be arriving at my home soon. I am very happy with this!! Not that I won't be trading for a new V8 H3 but I made sure it was transferrable!! No if I could only get that V8 in GREEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks!!!!

WOW congrats.... and a transferable warranty for a new vehicle (the 07) that doesn't seem to have any potential head problems at that!????  And I can't even get one for mine which had the head replacement after 4.5 months!  I would wait and see what that letter says tho when you get it...

Sorry for the misunderstanding....the warranty is transferable to the lucky person that gets my 06 when I trade it in. I will update as soon as it arrives!!!

Bi-weekly update LOL..this has become a rather boring joke!  GM called me today and I have been passed around yet again to another rep (this makes #3 now and I apparently now have 4 files and case #'s at this point). In summary of the call....GM still doesn't have total authorization from every source neccessary to issue me my extended warranty. If they get the final go ahead, they will send me an email stating their intentions "so that I have it in writing" and I then must relinquish my original letter to my local service manager before they will send me a new letter yada yada yada! But they will touch base with me in a few days to let me know if they have gotten said "authorization."  LOL..is this not a joke or what? 5 months, 3 GM reps...still no final decision!  At this point we have gone far beyond absurdity!

My question to those of you who have gotten letters recently... is this warranty "bumper to bumper,"  or engine/powertrain, or just engine?  GM told me originally that I would receive "engine/powertrain" (which was all I expected and I was thrilled) but when the letter came, it was certain componants of the engine ONLY!  Hence my battle with them now.
