They got their jobs thru "careerbuilder.com"
Sure, any advice anyone has that is legit is welcomed. And yes, I am thoroughly PISSED when I am told I am getting one thing then it seems I am getting nothing..at least for the moment anyway

I have a suggestion. This is all assuming you have the time. Why don't you get a list together of everybody on here who has had the problem, and get every one of them to go online and file a BBB report against GM on this issue? THEN maybe they'll listen to what you have to say. Find out the name of whomever it is at GM that is in charge of Warranty repair and/or customer service for the Hummers, and tell him/her, if you don't figure this out now, we are all going to do this.
Remember when you all dug into the original poster about going too far making a bigger deal then it was about filing a class-action lawsuit? This sure sounds like it's leading to that. Realistically, it won't happen unless somebody wants to do it pro-bono as a career booster, but you never know. I think "deceptive business practices" or possibly "misleading the consumer" may fall into the catagory of promising one thing and giving another.

I find it hard to beleive GM is losing money. Even if they replaced the head on every single H3 ever made. What do I know though. Does it cost GM money to extend the warranty for people who had this problem? The truth always comes out in the end.

Mikey, I have never been a litigious person - don't agree with it and it's wrong - UNLESS there is good and just cause for it. It is part of what is wrong with society today when everyone sues just for the hell of it to make a buck.
But, now I am MAD and you bet I will be looking into various options here. The thing that gets my DANDER up Denny..is that WE are the ones who made this H3 the success that it became! WE folks who took a chance on a new 1st year model! WE folks who are now being screwed with a product that was produced with bad components, and GM is now saying "OH SH*T, we can't continue to make it right for these poor folks because we are losing too much money!" AND WE folks who made this H3 the success it was have now been slapped in the face even further with the new 2007's double the warranty! Am I mad? YOU BET!

I don't agree with anybody sueing anybody else anyless it's justifyable either. I'm just suggestion that route if things get to extremes and GM all of the sudden decides they aren't going to honor any of the promised they made to any of their customers.

FYI I also had the head replaced. Originally the case manager told me they would explore giving me the extended warranty. My truck was tied up for almost a month.
I just got the issue resolved, and in lieu of a warranty extension they are paying my truck payment for a month.
Im just happy my H3 is running well -- and they made good on the inconvenience.
Good luck all.

Well dear..did they kiss you?....Cuz you got screwed with the sort end..Sorry to be so blunt...But one months car payment will not fix a future problem with the engine if you are out of warranty...They definitely got the better end of the deal

I couldn't agree more. What the heck...they made a payment...and that's ok?! I don't think so...your engine just had some pretty serious work done to it because of a manufacturer defect. I would call and get the extended warranty anyways. Don't settle for that nonsense!

I appreciate the feedback.
I had several options instead of GM paying one month's truck payment.
(1) Explore a lemon law claim in NJ to determine I had none since it was fixed and didnt meet the requirements under law.
(2) File a superior court claim for breach of warranty, maybe, then assuming I won, when it got to damages calculations I would show less than a month out of services when I was in a 2007 H3 loaner (smelly one but new) and GM also offered a month's payment on top of it.
(3) Throw a hissy, sell the H3 and take a beating on the depreciation in value.
(4) Have GM pay 1 month's truck payment which is quite substantial, and continue to enjoy what the H3 has to offer me.
Option 4 was the best option under my set of circumstances, especially since GM doesnt appear to be throwing extended warranties around at this point.
Thanks all.

I like option 5 the best.
(5)Have GM pay 1 month's truck payment and call the number LawWyfe posted on the first page of this forum and get an extended warranty on the engine anyways.
At least that's what I would do!

WOW..So you just gave up and gave in without so much as a fight? This would never fly with me. Of course GM has already made promises to me, so I will keep at it until they make it right just to get rid of me. Good luck.

Yes I agree with you -- it would be nice for an extended warranty but they wouldnt offer and that was already the 800#.
If anyone gets a letter thats dated after today granting an extended warranty, please post a pdf of it and Ill call the same person at GM who signed it, asking for the same deal.
In the interim, Ill enjoy the truck.
Best of luck.

Bottom line here is Larain...if YOU are satisfied and happy...then that is all that matters...and YES I too enjoy my truck daily regardless...however I will continue to make it known to everyone that I can the issue and how GM treated me.

And Denny you think this is legit? I somehow doubt GM truly cares enough to post here - because that is the feeling I am getting from my treatment by GM thus far. (OR perhaps it is just my resentment showing thru of having been lied to and put off for 3 months now??)

Figured I would give everyone update on my situation. I just got off the phone with GM. This was my 3rd call in 3 weeks. The past two times I was told they will call me between certain hours on Monday. No one ever called me back. This was the 3rd time they said they don’t know of any issue with the head. I was told my 12 month 12,000 warranty kicked in when I had the head replaced but it was voided because I have such low miles. I have a 4 year 50,000 bumper to bumper warranty. So if need service at 49,000 miles, say on my head or transmission, I lose my 12/12,000 warranty. That part will only be covered under the remaining warranty. So that part would only be covered for 1,000 miles. Actually GM is taking away warranty not handing them out. I was offered a $250 gift certificate for maintenance. That is the conclusion of my 3rd call. Everyone Take Care. Have a good day!

I also wanted to mention that I do not believe anyone has received an extended warranty. If someone has been told they will get an extended warranty, I believe it is a lie. It would be illegal for GM to give a group of people a warranty and draw the line and stop giving them out.

I think see a class action lawsuit in GM's future!

Head, are you stating that I am lying?? I have a letter in my hands from GM extending my warranty! However, I have also been told in my last phone conversation that it is being canceled. Now had I been told from the get go that I was not getting an extended warranty - I might not have much of a complaint. But, I have been told on several different occasions that I was getting an extended warranty (of course promises were different in several phonecalls of what I would be getting) and that a letter would be in the mail to me.
