I have to report I have see a couple more of these come in my dealer in the last couple of days. They have a new part number for a complete assembled head instead of buying all the seperate pieces. These are backordered right now but show stock coming in to fill orders. It seems everthing happens in pairs here. We have now had 6 trucks in the last year for this. Steve

I bought mine in Oct. '05 right off the assembly line, it has 27k miles on it, and to this day not one big or small engine problem. It's been running perfectly. It seems like it was just a bad batch of them. I would bet the percentage of H3 owners having or that had the problem is less then 5%. If it was that big of an issue, there would be alot more people on this forum posting about it.

5%???? How you figure that when this poll here is at over 50% I'm not saying it's that high of a number out in the real world but for GM to now package the parts together to make it easier for dealerships to order the needed parts for the repair, makes it pretty damn obvious that they are seeing more than a mere 5% coming in for replacement.

Well, the people that are NOT having the problem are not going to sit here posting about how great their H3 runs, at least probably not most of them, but the ones that ARE having the problem are going to post. I never said I was accurate but think about it, if you are having problems with your car, what are you going to do? Call or go to the dealer. If your car is working great, you aren't going to just randomly call the service department and say "OH hey just wanted to tell you I'm not having any valve problems, everything is great!" Most people are only going to speak up if they ARE having the problem.

Ok this is now an international problem! LOL Was at my dealer here in Vancouver yesterday and casually asked how many they've had. They are apparently up to seven.

I guess there's no way to vote again for the second head/valve issue I had. I voted for my first at 4000ish miles. Second time at 21000 miles.

I think there were one or two other who had it happen a second time?

Just left my 06 at the dealer with 28,000 miles on it. It will be getting a new head. I am the first at this dealership and they had no clue there was a problem!! When the service guy called he said there was a misfire on cylinder #2 and I said I know and he said what? I explained to him that my VIN is range of possible head/valve issues and as soon as I got my first check engine light I knew. So now I am after my 100,000 mile warranty!!!!!

Your dealer had to know, they were just playing stupid. Very cool that you knew what to say to them.

What is the range of vin numbers? Are all of the problems in a close range of numbers?  Maybe one small batch of bad heads.  Just curious.

Well, the 100 mile round trip to work and back every day is getting the best of me.  I'm trying to figure out the best way to get to and from work without killing myself.  Driving so far has been most efficient, but is taking alot out of me.  I'm going to try different train routes in the next few days.  So far, the one that was recommended to me, is rediculous.  At work, I have been bombarded with new phone and Blackberry activations.  EVERYBODY wants a Blackberry Pearl.  For those of you who don't know what they are, PLEASE, DON'T ASK ;-)  That and trying to get my truck ready for the World of Wheels is taking all my time.  I'm starting to think moving out to the boonies wasn't such a good idea.  Hopefully the different train routes will work even though I have to park in a so-called "Bad" area.  If the H3 gets broken into, it's not the end of the world.  I'm willing to take my chances to save me 3 hours of commuting every day.

So, there's my story.  Hopefully, after the show is over, I'll have some time again.   Work on the other hand is a little busier then normal.  But, that's what pays for the house.  What's a guy to do
