I don't know. Is there a fuse for the back doors and hatch?
That or the wire that goes back to the rear is grounding out. If that's the case, it would be before the rear doors.

Will the rear doors & hatch unlock if you press the unlock button in the truck? does the remote lock everything fine? I'd imagine that you're on to something, Chris... thats about all I can come up with with the information provided

This may be a dumb comment, but I kinda remember when I had the OEM remote that you had to press the unlock button twice to open the back doors/hatch??
Other than that....NO IDEA!!!

unless you're opposed to this, you might just want to take it to the dealer... if you have any warranty left I'd just drop it off at the dealer.. they'll prolly loan you a new h3 or something in the mean time

My rear doors unlock with just two taps of the key fob; however, I'm unsure if this is also true for the earlier models.

Just throwing out suggestions....
Child safety locks???... is there a "toggle" of some sort on the pass doors, that prevent you from unlocking the doors?
Have you looked at the actual door lock knob thingy to see if it moves or jerks at all when you try unlocking the doors with either the key fob, or the lock/unlock button on the driver door?
What about the lock/unlock button in the rear(the one on the pass side piller)? does that do anything?
How about the message center on the dash? Isnt there something in there about the doors locking and unlocking??
It just seems like this is something too simple to take to the dearler for.......at least just yet...

everything locks with the key fob and from the door switch, even with the switch on the right rear pillar, just that nothing unlocks but the front doors, I will check the child safety in the morn when it is light outside, or off to the dealer tues morn.
I would much rather figure it out myself, than taking a chance on not having itfor a while.

BiggDogg, There is a relay that unlocks the rear doors and rear hatch/liftgate. It is located in the instument panel fuse block on the left side of the dash. There should be a label on the back side of the panel that you take off to access the fuses/relays. If not the relay is the second one down on the right side of the panel below the w/s wpr and tbc accy fuse. Check and listen to the realy as you unlock the doors and see if it clicks or exchange the relay above it (The lock relay) and see if the doors unlock then. The BCM sends a ground to the relay to unlock the rear doors and hatch/liftgate so I would trouble shoot the relay first. Hope this helps. Steve

Thanks alot evryone for your help. but guess what.....for some reason it started working, so, there has to be a short, or a wire grounding out somewhere......if it happens again, streight to the dealership, i hate troubleshooting electrical stuff.

C5 Corvettes are notorious for having their door lock relays go 'on the fritz'. My C5, as well as my brother's C5 have both had the passenger side door relay go out. It seems that it's a common problem when scouring the pages of various Corvette forums. Although repairing one doesn't appear to be all that difficult with a few parts readily available from a local Radio Shack, 'Corvette Tax' brings the bill up to about $1,200 when left with the Corvette dealer for repair.

you'd have better luck following the advice you got here than going to the dealer. my '03 takes 2 taps on the unlock button to unlock all the doors, once only unlocks the driver's door. try your spare remote just to make sure. if you're out of warranty, the dealer will take forever to find an electrical problem.
