I'm asking this question because I'm on my second H3 and I found water running down the rear door pilar and the carpet under my rear seat was soaked.  My sunroof was closed but we had a lot of rain over the past couple of days. I'm off again to the dealer with this H3 on Wednesday to find out if they can keep the water outside of my truck.

I really wish I had something witty to say about this....  the look on your face when Lynn told you the back was soaked was priceless.

What are the odds that I had 2 Slate Blue H3s one was an 06 and this one is the later model 07 and they both leak in the same exact spot.  It's driving me crazy, I just want a dry H3.  MuddyD thinks its the Slate Blue Paint job, he thinks I should paint it Birch White.

Only have 1 H3 2007. No problems with the sunroof. We had heavy rain for the last week - everything dry so far.

Yer right, the odds would be pretty low. Don't think sunroof. Unless your positive it's the sunroof. It could be caused by something else. Maybe a leak in one of the bolts that hold the luggage rails on? I'm not sure where to get it, but they make and invisible dye (visible to ultra violet light) that you could add to water and try to reproduce the problem. Then in a dark garage and with a black light you could chase down the leak. There is a simular product they can put in engine oil to track oil leaks.

Few questions:

How often do you open it?
Is there a time of year the leak happens more often?
Do you regularly park your car outside, uncovered (work or home)?

Your gonna think I'm crazy but it only happens outside, uncovered when I have to park behind my wife's suv in our driveway.  Our driveway has a small inclune to it so when I'm park behind hers' the backend is lower than the frontend. I haven't used this sunroof that much because of the weather, this is the only times it leaks is after it has been sitting in the driveay during a regular rain.  Doesn't happen if I'm park more forward in the driveway in the same storm.  Weird huh? 2 H3s both doing the same problem.  It's at the dealer today so will see if they find the leak, I told them to check the screws holding down the factory roof rack rails.

The only time I had a leak was my own stupid fault. I had the sunroof pop-up open, and backed up my driveway which is on a slope. A freak rain storm came in that night, so all the rain slid down my roof and in the sunroof. The inside channel caught most of the water but the inside still got a little wet.

I was just thinking if it were under a tree some, some leaves and other stuff can get in there and cause issues -- we've seen it some on H2s.  Let us know what the dealer says..

I thought there was a thread here somewhere about a sunroof drain that gets plugged, and there is a way to un-plug it???

Maybe I'm thinking of something else......maybe not!

Sorry to hear about your ride. That would kill me if it happened to mine.....

I've had good luck with sun roofs.  Never had one leak on any of my vehicles.  (Knock on wood)

Okay, I got a loaner, Chevy Trailblazer fully loaded, because they didn't get to my H3 yesterday.  I'm now leaning to the screw that is directly above where the leak is, it is located in the roof rack channel.  Have to wait to see what they find, keep you posted.  I find it hard to believe that I'm the only one who has had this problem, what are the odds of having an 06 and an 07 that do it in the exact same spot.

Ok, for anyone keeping count this is the fourth time that this dealership can't find my leak.  They have seen the water dripping out from between my rear seat pillar and have seen my carpet wet with water but they don't know where it is coming from. I'm going back there on Friday to pick up my H3 so the saga continues.

Just went to the dealer and saw my H3 ripped apart.  They tore out the rear carpet, took off the rear door panel/armrest, the headliner, and the plastic door pillar pieces.   There still looking for where the water leak, I gave 'em photos, pointed out to where I saw the water and now they have a call in to GM to see if anyone else has this problem.  Hopefully I'll get my truck back soon and hope they fix it.
