Hi all,    about a week or so ago a started a thread about the coolant level in my truck...after inspecting it, I added about 4 glasses of water..thats it.. but the warning light on the dash still says low coolant level...could this be the sensor, if so does anyone know where it is?? thanks.

My bet is the sensor...  they fault to ground so if you know it is full and can unplug it the light should go out and let you know it is a bad sensor.  I would look on the top tank on the radiator.

Is your fluid level still good? I was curious about the outcome as I thought the block issue might be raising its ugly head again also. Good luck and let us know.

Low coolant level sensors are usually in the top tank of the radiator.... or the surge tank...

Personally I would unplug it first before buying one...

in my experience low coolant level sensors usually short to ground...  thus closing the circuit and giving you a light...

if you unplug it the circuit will be open...

I can't promise you that is how it works on the 1 though...  I'm just trying to help... until someone that knows for sure comes along..

would you believe that the sensor costs 229,  it might just stay unpluged...

Are you sure that isn't for the entire surge tank?  Those sensors are usually under $25...

Find a Stanadyne dealer and see if they have it.... or I can see if I can find a number off of it and get it at work...

I went to 3 parts shops to have them tell me they dont show it in there system and I should go to the dealer...well I called the dealer and kascar and they were both over 2 bills, just for the sensor..let me know what u come up with..thanks.

Kascar normally has what you want but they aren't the cheapest source.
