I realize we have a running thread on this subject but I think it has lost some steam.

You can do this mod with the tires turned in for access but if you remove the wheel it becomes amazingly easy. (damn our tires are heavy!).

Start out by removing all the push pins.  There are about 12 in each wheel well. You need a screw driver and needle knose pliers.

The Wheel well liner pulls out easily.

This gives you access to the rear of the DRLs.  They are help in place with 3 small self tapping screws.  A nut driver is the easiest tool to use to remove these.  The DRL assembly now floats inside a cradle but can't be removed from the rear. If you have a brush gard like I do it has to be removed also.  This meant I had to loosen the Tow hooks for removal.

You have to pop the hood and remove one nut on each side that holds the upper grill.  This will allow you to pop each end of the grill. You don't need to remove the gril but simply pull the ends out for clearance. The grill is very flexible but you really have to bend it for clearance of the DRL assembly.

After you have removed the DRL assembly you can replace the OEM bulb with an amber Savania Silver Star.

Reverse the order and button everything back up.
Here's my end results.  I reused the OEM DRL bulb.
CAN YOU SEE ME NOW!!!

Nice write up, Vader. As I mentioned in the other thread, I didn't have to remove the wheel but maybe as I started with a nut driver and long extension on the ratchet so it wasn't hard to reach.

After doing one side the otherside does come more quickly.  The plastic wheel well liner comes out a lot easier with the wheel removed but both ways will work.

I think all the lights being clear looks a lot better plus offers more continuity and works well with chrome.

I agree..On your front end especially, the chrome and clear looks good! ..You need the fog Bezels to top it all off nicely.

Dennis you talking about the chrome rings that surround the fog lens?  I have seen them.  Kinda pricey..but what the hell.  That's why we work..to have the things we want!

Hmmm..those are both chrome plated.  That's a sorta hostile enviroment for chrome.  Have you seen stainless?

nope...just keep a good coat of wax or ICE on them..Mine are like new still and I've been through two winters with them.. and the ones on EBAY have a LIFETIME warranty.

Vader: Nice writeup....Thanks.

Love the look.

Dennis: Why do you not have a gallery?

and....Did you actually plan for all the lines of your F/E to match up perfectly or did you just get lucky?

Even the dang lines (fresnels or whatever you call them)  in the headlight reflectors match up......

Damn fine rigs....The both of ya!

Well I thought if I did have a gallery some wiseguy would steal my photos and sell them on ebay as his rig.(re: Hummbob)

and as far as the lines matching up..I'm not sure what you mean..but yes anyway..

Nice write up, Thanks!  Now how in the world can I disable the "new" DRL's in the 2007 H3's? They are the headlight mounted ones and I don't like driving with my lights on.  I'm not in Canada, Eh?

DVader, wish you would close that dang door for the pics.  Everytime I see it I feel like saying that.   I feel much better now, thank you.  CLOSE THE DOOR!
