Has anyone else had this problem? I am getting used to it but sometimes it stills bothers me. When giving it the gas I hit the brake especially when I have work boots on.I have talked to the salesman and he said yes some people do say that when test driving a H 3.

I had to take the rubber pad off the brake pedal and cut a 1/4 inch off the right side metal brake pad to get my foot from hitting it all the time. Extreme,,, yes but I have size 18 feet . My big ole foot would not fit squarely on the gas so i didnt have much choice. You should of seen my friends faces when I took a hacksaw to my new H3.... I gained about a 1/2 inch more room. I called the dealer and asked if they had plans for a redesign or something and he pretty much said no. I have plenty of room now but the rubber pad will never fit back on but I really dont care. You can take the pad off and gain about alittle more than a 1/4 inch without chopping the metal pad,, that might be enough to give you some more room. See ya...

When I took one out for a test drive it drove me crazy but i like the truck so much. I SAID I FIGURE SOMTHING OUT REPLCE THE PEDALS. Well make a long story short i had to get the leather int. and that 8 way power when i set the way i like the seat i never notice the pedeal but in the cloth they sit to low to the ground that why i switch and it help with the pedals.

I don't seem to find them that bad, and I wear size 12 shoes. I have noticed in my two short days with my H3 is that my left leg is a little cramped in the footwell and have a hard time finding a good comfortable spot for it. (I'm 6'2" and long in the legs)

I drove an 800 miles round trip in a day and I'm 6'3, size 12m foot..The only thing that was cramping a little was my buttocks

Hey all,
New to the forums and I just picked up my Slate Blue H3 a couple of weeks ago.
I had the gas/brake pedal problem as well, and after I poked around a bit I found that the carpet bulged out by the gas pedal (side of the tranny hump).
The dealer was notified and they put sown some adhesive which gave me ample clearance.
Might be worth poking around to see if any of you have the same issue.

Design Flaw that they should have caught, it's a pain. I bet they fix it for the 07 model, that I just read has the 3.7L V6. I suspect that fat footed folks (FFF's!) will cause a few accidents and GM wil be forced to do a fix and recall all 06 H3's. It's the only thing I dont like about my new H3.

I have an auto so I'm curious, how close is the clutch to the brake? It looks to me like the pedals on the auto are a carbon copy of a manual pedals minus the clutch. Most autos have the brake spaced more to the left and it's a wider pedal, maybe GM just kept the same template for all models and only added the clutch when needed?

Its the same inline 5 cyl. Bore has been punched out to make it a 3.7L engine. Its NOT a V6.
On topic: Yes the driver side foot well is tight.

I thnk the pedals could use a little adjustment. I purchased the WeatherTech Floor mats and find myself having problems with the gas peddle.

I just got my H3 Wednesday night and one of the first things I noticed after some time behind the wheel was this. I have size 16 feet and thought it was just me. Good to know I'm not the only freak. :)
This afternoon I'm going to try out the carpet trick and see if that helps.
Thanks for the info

Come on now. There were two bigger mentioned in previous posts. Compared to 17 and 18 I feel rather small with the 16s. And you know what they say about guys with big feet. They wear big socks. Yeah, I'll be the first to tell you that other thing is total B.S. :D
