BluRay is great...don't have it .... but the format is equal to HD... when it comes to which player to own or what movies to spend money on...I personally am going to stick with the HD format ..... kinda the VHS vs. Beta.... I watch my HD's thru a Xbox360 on a 52 Plasma Samsung...

crystal.... I am a HD nut...with really good eye sight...sometimes too critical on what I am seeing...the 360s output in 1080p I run thru VGA cables to my pc connection on the TV...very very clear!!

I PERSONALLY was Holding Out till this whole Blu/HD war finalizes a Winner!!

Honestly had my $$$ on HD DVD being the winner as we rent both formats in my stores and HD DVD outrents BluRay 3-1!! Then last Thursday I saw an ad in the WalMart flyer, some no-name HD DVD player for $129!! I figured this low price was going to push HD over the top as MOST consumers worry about PRICE!!!  Then later in the afternoon, the WarnerBrothers BOMBSHELL!!!! Bastards!!!

So I'm thinking HD DVD will LOSE out EVEN with Microsoft behind them!!! So I guess I should go pick up a BluRay player!!

WB looks like it is one of the final nails in the coffin for HD DVD.

When I heard that, I was glad I decided to wait it out. Guess it will be a BR in my not to distant future.

HumBob, how is this going to effect the way you stock your shelves?

You guys don't have the best experience until you get my setup.  I got a 65" HDTV with Bose surrond sound BUT the one thing you really need is the BUTTKICKER.  Check it out at www.thebuttkicker.com it is a low frequency audio transducer that I attached to my sofa whenever there is an explosion on the screen my entire sofa shakes and rattles.  You feel like you are in the movie! Even playing Xbox 360 games it takes it to a new level.

BlockBuster does rent BlueRay dics, NetFlicks too...

I've had the BR a while now in my PS3. I've got it tied in with HDMI to a 42 LCD 1080P and man it is sweet.

My surround system is Onkyo 7.1 amp with Cerwin Vega speakers and a Sony sub-woofer. It frikkin cranks. I've got the iPod Onkyo dock too and I can play my iPod through it and control it with the Onkyo remote. SWEET!

If you guys do get a BR unit, get the PLANET EARTH series on BlueRay. I've got the BBC version narrated by David Attenburough.

A LITTLE BLURAY NEWS

Paramount Set to Drop HD DVD for Blu-ray:

How many "death blows" will it take for Blu-ray to finally win the format war against HD DVD? I've been hearing that phrase (and writing about it) since July 2007. Well here comes another one. Following in the footsteps of Warner Brothers' abandonment of the HD DVD format, reports are surfacing that Paramount is headed to Blu-ray as well.
