On ''auto'' my headlamps are always on.
Is it a way to have them set up on real ''auto'', I mean on and off following the outside light?

The switch sould be on auto and if it is your sensor might be gone.

Importkiller (Mike) had a suggestion on how to test to determine if your daylight sensor is broke.
In the bright day light, push on your fog light button..if your fog lights come on, then your sensor is bad.
Thank's both of you. Obviously my sensor is gone

some warranty work for the dealer.

I think I'm may be missing something here.. Is it JUST the headlights that are on in the daylight or tail lights too..??
Whenever you start the truck up the headlights will come on, but no other lights. These are daytime running lights just to make you more visible to other folks in front of you. When it gets dark or you toss a book over that little round dot on the right side of your dash, all lights on the outside of the truck should come on with the exception of the foglights when their switch is in the off position..
When I first got the truck I thought the auto on light feature was kinda stupid and I hated the daytime running lights.. I've grown to really dig the auto lights feature and just don't care about the daytime running lights anymore..
ALL lights, I am afraid.
As per the OM the DRL could be shut off, but I cannot, Thus something must be wrong.
