Just curious....I'm thinking of beefing up the tires on my H3, and I'd like to know if 305s will work on a factory wheel w/o rubbing or t-bar adjustment.

Thanks

305's are smaller than 315...correct? I don't understand the question then? Depending on the brand tire you get a 315 will fit a factory wheel with no rubbing and or t-bat lift.

Well, I knew that 315s rubbed at full lock, so my main concern is the t-bar adjustment...I don't mind doing it, but I sort of like how it sits w/o the adjustment.

not all 315's will rub, a mickey thompson mtz will but they are a big 315 with aggressive sidewall treads that will add to the rubbing. A BFG m/t in a 315 will not rub at all.

even if the tire you pick does rub you can always just add 1/4 spacers and it will eliminate the rub all together. The rub we are talking about is at full stuff, you hardly ever turn the wheel until it won't go anymore, especially with the small turning radius of the h3. if it does rub and you don't like it, spend another $75-$100 and get a good pair of 1/4 or 1/2" spacers and teh rub will go bye -bye

Careful with those spacers, you need to make sure you have minimum number of thread engagement and that the lugnuts are torqued evenly, properly and checked often, otherwise you can kiss your H3, and maybe your ass, goodbye.

P.S. I have a 305/55R20 on a 20" wheel with +14mm offset. No rubbing.

I originally had my t-bars cranked... I think a little too much, the guy doing it was using an impact wrench so who knows how much it was turned. The ride was very harsh, although I liked the lift that it had. I got tired of bunny hopping on speed bumps so I picked up the truxxx leveling kit (now $387 was $450). I'm very happy with the results, the ride is pretty much back too normal. But as most everyone here reports, 2-3 turns on the t-bars will hardly affect the ride. The 35s w/ the lift does make a huge difference when compared to a stock H3. The MTZs are best investment I've made yet!

crash, I am just going by what other members here have said here. I know Skeet has 35 BFG M/T and he said they do not rub at all.

koolhands, I don't use spacers that are nothing more than a big washer..they are dangerous and aren't very popular today. I only use spacers that have their own set of studs on them. Might not be able to get 1/4" though, I am running 1" spacers on my jeep and had them on my tahoe with no problems at all.

What's that wheel & tire combo Import Killer has in his signature?  How was that lifted, just torsion bars?

yup, just a t-bar lift. Wheels are 17x9 Detata's and tires are 35x12.5 Mickey Thompson MTZ
