Has anyone upgraded to a high amp alternator? Im only running a few things and you can see lights dimming under heavy draw. i upgraded to an Optima red top which made a noticeable difference but its still not enough. I have light bar on the way. i dont wanna just slap on a big alternator and fry anything... any info would be appreciated.

I would get in touch with Ohio Generator and have them custom make you a H.O. Alty .. had that done for my old Avalanche and their pricing wasn't bad at all ..

hm-did you replace the factory alternator wire and power/ground wire when you added the red top? upgrading that will make a difference. i have experience with the wrangler products as well-they are good. one easy option is to check with your local generator/alternator shop. we have one nearby and they have rebuilt some customers alternators in the past with huge systems to increase the amperage-thats a nice option since you know your alternator will bolt right up without brackets or mods.
