I have 58,000 miles on my 2005 H2 SUT and apparently the air compressor for the rear suspension system has gone out. Is this normal? Cost to replace is $2,000. There were no warnings, just started bouncing like a trampoline. I did air up a tire a few minutes before the problem occurred. I don't have a Hummer dealer in town so having to take the word of the local Chevrolet dealership. Any words for advice from anyone? Thanks.

don't have it replaced by the dealer if it's out of warrenty, for less than half that you can have a compressor that's better than stock installed elsewhere.

Thanks.. i wouldn't have thought of looking elsewhere. As a follow up, the chervolet dealership hooked to computer and after a couple of attempts was able to send a command to the sensor to air up the shocks. First time they aired up but let down. Second time it took and error code cleared. If I had left the air compressor in the back (SUT) on, could that have depleted the air in the shock system? or is it seperate compressor?
