I can't even think of coming back to that aftermath
I understand that tornados are regularly strucking this area.
What I do not understand is why the federal gov. or even the State of Kansas don't issue laws about standards of constructions and type of materials to use for building houses, wharehouses and offics buildings in that area.
they already exist for earthquake in Japan and I think in some part of California.
I am convinced that we have the technology to built houses that can resist to a big tornado without being TOTALLY flattened.
These tornados are costing a lot of human life and billions of dollars in damges each years it will be quiet easy for the gov. to create a fund financially supporting the people building in these area thus helping them to cover the extra construction costs they will face to follow the new constructions regulations.

It's an old idea Jean..and a whole lot of people are agreeing with you too, also this should also extend to hurricane prone areas as well....But our Fed Gov is too busy worrying about keeping the environmentalist and special interests groups happy...
