Well, today was exactly 2 wks since I bought my H3.  After picking my little one up from kindergarten, I took her to a local ice cream stand where we enjoyed some milk shakes.  When it was time to leave, I had been setting at the parking lot exit for at least 3 minutes, not moving a bit, waiting for traffic to clear so that I could enter the highway.  I had not moved an inch in these 3 minutes.. and then BANG!  The noise, the jolt I felt, my little girl saying "what was that?"  I look in my side mirror and see a red Camry backing up.  I jump out and can only imagine what i looked like approaching this car.  As Im approaching, the driver (about 50 yr old man) steps out with his arms up as if saying "dont shoot", but saying "Im sorry, Im sorry."  Of course, as Im walking, I see that his front end is f'd up before I can see mine, imagining the worse.  I turn the corner, and have NOT 1 scratch.  He went straight into my tow hitch, didnt scratch or bend it.  But boy it f'd his front end up a little, maybe $500-800 damage.  Just wanted to share that with you all, but the H3 stood strong and stood its ground!

Glad to hear that no one was hurt, nor was your rig damaged.  So was the idiot blind, on a cell phone, or did he have his head between his legs?  How can someone possibly MISS seeing a Hummer right in front of them?

what a bunch of diks.  y'all are happy over an accident.  no wonder everyone hates us, with attitudes like this we deserve all the $hit we get.  i can understand the relief when you realize your car isn't damaged, but to get enjoyment out of the destruction of someone else's property is fukkin disgusting.  and of course every hummer driver is 6' 8", 325 lbs, built to intimidate every other driver in the world (except for me, but then again i'm not as much of a dik as most ).  y'all make me sad to be part of the hummer family.

OK?  Happy over an accident, well, no I am not.  Happy that my brand new H3 didn't get a scratch on it, uumm, yeah, I'm pretty estatic over that.  I was an accident reconstructionist for almost 8 yrs, driver inattention is the #1 cause of accidents.  Obviously, I'm relieved that nobody got hurt.  But..., based on my training and experience, when you have a 2 vehicle collision, at least one of them will sustain damage of some sort.  And if me being thrilled that the damage was to a 1999 Toyota Camry driven by a 50 yr old man paying no attention to what he was doing while operating a motor vehicle, instead of damage to my brand new H3, makes me a "dik", then I'll accept that label.  And for the record, I'm only 5-10, 215.

Hey Dot, you shared an interesting real life experience with us.  That's cool with me but I don't see any reason for anyone to get upset over it.  Read it and move on.  Thanks for sharing.

no offense, but i dont think anybody but dot was happy, and he was only happy because his rig wasnt messed up,i mean you probably would be happy if someone hit you and you rig didnt even have a scratch, heck i would be,anyway, its ok to be happy that your rig still looks good after that, and more importantly everyone is ok

So people aren't supposed to be happy for the victim?   For the record, it wasn't dot who smashed him, it was the driver behind him NOT PAYING ATTENTION.

It doesn't matter what car it was, it could have been another hummer, I would be estatic too if I didn't get damaged when in a BRAND NEW car....

EDIT:  I just re-read the thread and I don't see where anyone said they were happy because the guy behind him was crushed.... please quote me that if this was the case.

fine, i'll be the first to say it then: i'm happy he jacked up his camry...not b/c im a hummer driver, but b/c the guy's an idiot and should pay attention.  he got what he deserved.  if he hit a kid, then i'd be happy that he'd go to jail.  get it?
