Im a newbie to the hummer world, bought it for looks, but more for function.
On the street its so easy to drive and you truly feel like the king of the road, but today i took it on some dirt around my house and i couldnt believe the suspension support and the solid feel on these things.....5 years ago i had a chevy z71 and took it off road all the time and most of the time i felt like the truck was going to fall apart with the rear end going in different directions and the constant lack of traction over bumps
im in love with my purchase with 0 regrets!!!!!
Hope to learn alot from you guys

The more you drive it off road and the more comfortable you get the more impressed you will be. If you know what you are doing the truck will get you there. If you don't know what you are doing it will get you further than anything else.

I would say the only real vice of the H2 offroad is it's size.
There are trails that I've taken my jeep down, that there's no phreakin' way
My H2 would make it through....and it had nothing to do with the lay of the
land, just the trees/bush.

a little bit of trail pinstriping adds character . . .

If they are real buddies they will get over it. Let them lead on the trails ever now and then.

I just bought mine home accross Australia and knew I would be on some very tight tracks so I purchased 9 Meters x 600mm msgnetized plate like they use for advertising signs on car doors and made up protection panel, worked like a charm so long as you tape the leading edge. We pay more for than double for the H2 here than you guys and I fully intend to use it to it's full capabilities but also want to protect the paint work.
