I would like to apologize first for reposting this thread again in this section but it seems like this is the most appropriate place for it. New guy, sorry!

Good morning everyone. I have a question about a problem I'm having with my H1. Yesterday I was driving under very normal conditions and the following occured to me:
1. After having started perfectly, I drove the vehicle about 1 mile, stopped, shut it off. I came back about 20 min. later and it would turn over very well but it wouldn't start. After approx. 10 tries it started right up.
2. Throughout the day it started fine on several occasions. Then it happened again. Same thing.
3. I was able to start it again but then it started to stall on me at slow speeds (15mph r less). 3 times total over a period of approx 2 hours.

I would appreciate any help/insight that anyone can give me. If annyone would like to call me to get a better detailed version feel free to all me anytime at 985-969-0030. My name is Javier.

Also, I would love to meet up with anyone that has an H1 within 50-100 miles of the New Orleans/Baton Rouge area.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Javier

probably the pmd. You can try the jedi-water trick to narrow it down. Next time it dies, open the hood and pour a bottle of water over the injector pump (in the valley) then try to start.

I agree with RonB... there seems to be alot of these cases recently... if you do get a new PMD make sure you pick up a relocation/cooler setup so it is away from the heat!

Man at first I thought the 2 of you where messing with him talking about the "Jedi Water Trick" and "Down in the Valley" lol.  I was going to tell him to get a new flux capacitor or check the mufflet bearings. lol  Just goes to show I dont know squat about Diesels.

Nope, they are dead on. It is a common problem on the H1s due to the mounting location. Once it starts it just keeps getting worse. Take car of it now and re-install with the relocation kit.

Hi.  Look under the topic "stalling Problems"  I just replaced my PMD with a remote mount due to the same problems you are having.  Check out the thread, i'll help anyway i can

As you can see they are not easy to get to.

To unlatch the connector on the PMD, I had to modify a long, thin, flat blade screwdriver by bending it to about 30 degrees about 3-4 inches from the tip.  This allowed me to get between the PMD and the manifold to lift the latch and then pull the connector out.  It also helps if you have a small hand or someone around who does to get in there.
