Went to look at a new 07 H2 was shocked at the price my wife said go for it. I said but it's lots of money honey. Her birthday is tommorow so I said just kidding you know we could get two H3 almost for the price of one H2. She said are you serious? I said half smiling why sure so I picked out my H3x at $42,300 and she found hers for $35,600 and we were up side down on our 06 GMC Yukon with 42,000 miles so they gave us $22,000 and we owed $39,900 so at that point I was stressed and she said lets do it my birthday is tommorow and yours is next month - so we did it. My life dream now comes true and no payments. Now heres the problem - she takes off after we left the business office. We are also three new Hummer Jackets and two new keychaines & and of a hummer hat and we are  1 and a 1/2 hours from home.  The sales person goes over her New H3 and my son and I were in the back seat watching him show us the vehicle.  Her blue 07 H3 hummer has just a few less options on it and my Black H3x 07 Black Hummer was sitting one parking space over from hers - so he finishes and she takes off. Now me and my son get in  my new life long dream Hummer and it was cold - did I mention it was 9 degres? So he and I drive off & told my son to turn the heater on so he pushed the heater botton and nothing happen and then he tryed the raido and nothing happen, so my one hundred percent happyness went to a pain in my chest and anger - so I called my wife which was about 5 miles ahead and ask her how to turn on the raido and heater. Now get this the heater fan was running great blowing cold air from out side and was really cold at 9 degrees. So she said you were watching just like I was, if its not working turn back -and I stated in an less then normal voice I know, and it wont turn on. So she said turn around and hurry back to the dealer and see how to turn it on and hurry they are about to close. Now my chest really hurts so I called and the sales person would not answer his page -guess he already started celebrating from the two H3 Hummers he just sold - so he finally answered the phone and said well that does not sound right bring it back and we will try and figure out the problem. Well to say the least I was so mad I could not see stright we just wroth a check for $98,000.00 and no heat or sound. So I pulled in and the sales person had a big smile on his face and I said this thing will not heat and the raido does not work. Well after the sales manager, general manager and business manager got me calmed down and pulled the Hummer in the bay they found a blown fuse and six of the other fuses missing which they said were extra fuses. So the sales person said go out and pull six fuses out of the blue Hummer out side the door. And I looked at him in shock and said nice - so the next person that buyes that Hummer has the same problem, well the sales manager says - no, go parts and get the fuses. Now this was a showroom Hummer I bought and was really looking good and the GM said a service person probly pulled a few fuses instead of walking a hundred feet to the parts counter. so they said they were sorry and I was a happy customer again and I told my son this is just our luck and he said it sure is and he said it would really bite if someone ran into us. Well that made me nervous and I said dont say that even joking. So now I called my wife and she was about half way home and said lets go to Chilis to eat for your birthday since you will be gone at your moms tommarrow.  She sat alone for a half hour waiting.  So to make a long story short we got there and parked in the crowded parking lot & we got out of the Hummer and I pushed the lock botton on the key fob and no horn sound and lights did not blink, so I tryed the other key fob and nothing, not used to the hummer I though w

The good news is that I've owned 3 Hummers without any problems.
It sounds like the dealership did a sloppy pre-delivery inspection.  Luckily, that can easily be corrected and you will enjoy your " fleet ".

GHummer, it was $98 K mostly because they were "upside down" on their truck.  They owed like $18K, so that added to the cost.

Actually, I think it was me that questioned the $98 to more of an extent...ahhh now I see the light as it was a tad hard to follow along with his post ...I can grasp that now LOL.

Upside down..   Ouch..  You do what you have to do, but I think if you would have waited a day or so you would have miraculously found they found a buyer for your old truck at pay off...

When I first went in to look at an H3 and they ran the numbers through they first came back and told me they could only give me $1000 on my Rodeo..  Blue book was over $5500..  98 model, loaded, 68,000 miles..   A few days later they called me back and offered $5700...

On the battery thing..  It wouldnt' surprise me one bit if they regularly left your truck sitting in the showroom with the radio running 24/7 until the battery went dead...  Prolly several times..  Just plug up the charger to it for a few hours and recharge it everytime the battery went dead...  At least until someone decided to pull the fuses out of the radio... With any luck and new battery will have you going again..

You gotta remeber one thing with regards to a trade-in..The dealer will pay only what the going rate is at an auction...I never trade, I sell first before I buy...which leads me to why I always maintain my cars in the pristine condition, hence, I get top dollar without haggle in a private sale...

Sorry my post was so long I was so ticked off I just was writing and sorry it was written so poorly but I do feel better now.

The good news is the service manager called early this morning and there going to send a flat bed truck to pick up my H3 and put a new battery in it and check for any other problems it may have and make it right, and they are bringing a loaner.

The $98,000.00 was the money I owed on the trade in vehicle and the two new Hummers - by the way the 06 Yukons do not hold there value so almost $18,000.00 was to pay off my trade and the taxes of corse.  The vehicles ran about $43 and $35 thousand.

Denny, I am right there with you!  I have always sold our vehicles myself for this very reason. And usually due to the condition that I have kept them in (plus an extra professional detail that I invest in right before it goes on the sale block) and my usually lower mileage - I have always luckily sold them almost immediately and gotten top $ for them! With exception to my last sale of the jeep that is.  Dealer wanted to give me $5K for a book valued jeep of $13K so I said FORGET IT and bought the Hummer...on the Internet and AutoTrader she went..took me 3 mos (and a RAPIDLY decreasing book value rate lol) to sell due to the vast amount of jeeps out there for sale here and the fact that we were at the height of $3.00/gal gas prices...finally sold her but still got 4K more than Hummer was willing to give me.

I knew I could get a bit more out of it on a private sale, but anything you use as trade-in in TN comes off the bottom line price of the new truck..   $30,000 truck, $5700 trade-in = $24,300 sale..  You only pay tax on $24,300 rather than $30,000...  $2247 rather than $2775 taxes...  I might have got another $500 out of it, but I doubt it and didn't have to deal with tire kickers etc...    Had it been worth $10 - $15,000, the difference would have been even greater on the tax thing...
